I usually don't write blogs on the weekend but this one needed to be said.
Anyone that has had a child with a fever or teething has probably used baby tylenol, but I might be in the natural medicine isles tomorrow finding alternatives because it always seems like there is a vague recall of tylenol which is scary. Just read today on cbc http://www.cbc.ca/health/story/2010/04/30/childrens-medicine-recall.html, about a recall on the children's medicine and it leaves parents scared and doesn't provide too much information. If you follow the link to see which have been recalled, http://www.mcneilproductrecall.com./page.jhtml?id=/include/new_recall.inc, the serials numbers don't make sense to me, and if they are not on this list, are you fine?
If you are on this list what does it mean?
When things like this come up it always leaves me wondering if a child should really be given anything not natural. With a lot of things I always have to think is the effects of not giving my child something worse than him getting it, and that is what helps me decide. But these are always things that leave mother's fustrated and guilty because they are the ones making decisions for someone who is unable to yet, so how much education do mother's have to get to be considered qualified?
This is all just food for thought for the weekend, but I mostly just wanted to advise people who had not seen the cbc article today.
Have a good weekend everyone!
