Thanksgiving, thankful its not at my house

I am pretty excited for the weekend, as I am not hosting Thanksgiving this year, but rather going to two other houses for thanksgiving, so time for the elastic pants (thank god I still have some maternity clothes)...just kidding! Seriously though I love having everyone over but I get very stressed out, wanting everything to be super clean, organized and still find the time to make an amazing dinner, leaves me just waiting until it is all over and not getting to truly enjoy the time with all my family. So I would rather alternate having the dinner at my house, because sometimes I like to be catered to, that is right being a guest is a real treat, now I just have to hope for a nanny at these events and I would be set (hopefully I don't have to keep saying just kidding, and everyone will soon come to know and love my humour).

I hope everyone has a good weekend and also please read my last examiner article about remembering to eat locally made produce, to support our Canadian farmers.

If you are making the dessert like I am for thanksgiving, why not try alternative sugars (instead of the refined white sugar we all usually use). For example agave which can replace white sugar for the same measurements in your recipe, and you just add about 1/4 cup extra of the flour ingredient, and lower the temperature on your oven just slightly as agave makes you brown quicker. Believe me I have been converted to this stuff and love the taste now, and it doesn't give you that sudden sugar low. We all know we can't stay away from desserts sometimes, so why not try to make it a little better :)

I now make my banana bread with agave for my little guy and he can not get enough, but of course it is still sugar, so we always want to make sure everything in moderation.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone !
