Last weekend I started to go back to my spinning class and I hope to go again this weekend. Also I went on a two hour hike last weekend and you can see what I say about hiking with your baby at http://www.everythingmom.com/fitness/hiking-with-your-baby.html. But I was just amazed last weekend because it is as if I woke up in someone elses' body, one that had a lot more cardio ability then that of my own. I hope that whatever happened I don't loose these new super powers, that I have gained. We were planning another hike for this weekend, as we are trying to do as many as we can this summer, and writing about all our trail experiences with a baby and eventually with a toddler but like every family not always doable, like this weekend is out. We have Mateo's first birthday (sad that we have already gone through a year of his life) and this means lots of family and friends. Then next weekend his birthday party again at my parent's house, so this also means no hiking.
But I want to keep the momentum going of having energy to see my exercise through to the end, and not give up or lower the intensity (like when I try to stop spinning and pretend to need a lot of water breaks). So I think I will try a small hike, with just Mateo, around our area, next Thursday.
I do feel extremely exhausted as Mateo has been sick and teething which makes for wakeful nights, but what is that saying, that you need to do things how many times in a row so that it will become habit? I feel if I don't make it a point to at least do my exercise every weekend, and say well this weekend I am busy, I will stop all together. It is like my Monday night yoga, which I seem to be skipping. First I say I had a bad night's sleep so I don't have the energy to go, but then the next week I don't go either, and now it has been a long time since I have gone.
I think I will stop using being a mom (as tiring as it is) as my excuse sometimes for not doing exercise and push through and do more things. As paranormal as it may seem to have the energy these days, I need to find the energy and make a routine of a exercise.
