We are a community group for mothers, currently in the Orillia to Gravenhurst, Ontario area, we focus on food, nutrition and health for our family. We draw on expert knowledge such as naturopaths, but best of all we learn and share knowledge from fellow mothers. Even if you have never cooked before we can help you get started. We want to encourage moms to cook and learn the importance of what they put on the table. We are REALISTIC and STRIVE to make a healthy lifestyle accessible to everyone, through education. Membership is FREE so sign up to follow us today! We work together to share knowledge of everything from recipes, nutrition, to how to plan ahead. We offer something for every lifestyle, from just the basics of cooking, spaghetti and pizza, to people looking to learn something new about nutrition, organics or even raw cooking. Never cooked before, let us help you get started, we offer some basic cooking lessons from a mom, to help get you started and then this group will help keep you going for a lifetime of providing healthy and nutritious meals for your family. We offer: Workshops, share recipes, and fun get togethers.

Sucky mom!

This was a weekend of crying, busyness, and just a lot of dread, because tomorrow I go back to my part-time job and Mateo goes into daycare. I am filled with a lot of emotions and frustrations to this decision.
We have gone three times now to see the daycare and Mateo seems to fit right in, so for him I think the transition will be fine, it is me who I am worried about. I will probably say goodbye, go in my car, cry, then re due my makeup and go into work and ask that everyone not mention daycare or Mateo at least for the first couple of days. I had a panic attack, stomach pains/nausea and my husband would probably say bitchiness (sp?) this weekend over my decisions, but I know everything will be fine.
I was lucky to have my mom visiting this weekend so that Ryan and I could get stuff done around the house before we are both exhausted from working, hence the busyness.
Also just to let you know I am doing this work part time because it pays the bills, but I am still keeping my entrepreneurial endeavours alive and trying to get my freelance writing/marketing communications business off the ground, as well as some possible hr recruiting work. In regards to my business, I have had some questions come up for an accountant so I will post the answers I get, to see if they are helpful to others who may have the same questions.
Tomorrow evening I will probably be posting how my experience went and tell everyone how many times I called the daycare to check up on Mateo.

  1. Oh, Liz! It will be okay! If not for you, definitely for Mateo...you might take a few days to break in!

    I'll be thinking of you!

  2. Hey Liz! Just came across your blog this morning! Good luck today!!! I can honestly say I understand what you are going through!! I've been back to work for almost a month now - and still have "moments" - crying, guilt... you name it! I cried the entire way to work for the first week (an hour long commute!) I have no real words of wisdom- and i won't bother saying it gets better - cuz everytime someone told me that I wanted to slap them!- But enjoy the time you do have with him when you pick him up! Hugs! xoxo
